Who We Are?

One day I was on the phone with my niece and she told me that she was glad that there were women like me…women who are child-free and enjoying life.  When she said that, I felt…HAPPY. Then I thought to myself, of course I’m happy. Why shouldn’t I be out here enjoying my life? What, because I don’t have kids? Pffft! At the same time I wondered, where’s my tribe?

My name is Jamease. I’m child-free and I’m absolutely content living my life as I do…without any children of my own. 

I know many men and women, especially, who are child-free and truly happy. Many of us have fulfilling careers, sustaining friendships and lasting love. We’re foodies. We travel. We care about and for other family members.

When people ask me if I just don’t like kids, I say “I LOVE kids!” When they follow up with, “You never wanted to be a mother?” I simply tell them…I’m so busy living my life that I forgot to be a mother 🙂
